Ignacio is an Associate in the Energy and Business Area of the Firm, with extensive experience in counselling national and international clients in various sectors, highlighting his specialization advising in the energy-regulatory, contractual and M&A operations.

He has participated in numerous sales transactions and investment in renewable power generation assets, both in projects under development (brownfield, greenfield and ready-to-build) and projects in operation (with PPA, merchant or specific remuneration scheme), carrying out counselling work through all the contractual stages of this type of transactions, writing non-disclosure agreements (NDA), legal due diligences, purchase agreements (of shares/participations -SPAs- or assets -APAs-), framework and development contracts, construction contracts (EPC) and operation and maintenance contracts (O&M).

He regularly advises electricity and natural gas trade companies as well as other participants in the electricity and gas market, both in the preparation of legal reports and in the drafting of various contractual documents, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), financial hedging contracts, contracts for the sale/rental/leasing of self-consumption facilities (individual, collective, without/with production surpluses, and simplified compensation agreements), particular and general conditions for the supply of electricity and/or piped natural gas, contracts for representation on the electricity market (direct/indirect) before both before the OMIE and the CNMC.

Ignacio has also assisted national and international clients in the development of their activity in the energy sector, advising innovative projects in energy efficiency (ESCO), storage, electric mobility (CPOs and eMSPs), and hydrogen.

On the other hand, he regularly advises national and international clients in their activity in the Spanish market, both in the initial stages, through the incorporation of companies or the drafting of shareholders' agreements, and in their daily activity, through corporate governance, advice on privacy and data protection policies, corporate conflicts, bankruptcy proceedings, drafting and reviewing contractual documents, such as collaboration agreements, leasing agreements, distribution and agency agreements, the constitution of rights in rem (mortgages, pledges or surface rights) or participatory loans.

Prior to joining Bartolomé & Briones, Ignacio was the main Associate of a boutique law firm specialised in the renewable energy and energy-transition, as well as other national law firms, gaining experience in M&A operations, contracts and insolvency law.
