Miguel is in charge of the Tax Department at Bartolomé & Briones.
He has developed his practice both in the national and international tax area counselling both Spanish companies and international groups.
In the international area he mainly advises international groups on matters related to the setting up of subsidiaries or procurement processes in Spain, where taxation and choosing the right investment vehicle can represent a significant competitive advantage in the medium and long term.
In this regard, in view of an increase in international activity in Spanish companies, he also provides advice on the setting up of Spanish firms abroad.
Our tax department has extensive experience in international mobility of workers and offers guidance, in cooperation with the Employment department, to both Spanish companies which need to transfer workers abroad and multinational groups whose managers are transferred to Spain, where correct tax planning can be key for companies and workers to make significant tax saving.
At a national level, tax counselling is focused on the day-to-day management of companies’ taxes, which due to constant regulatory changes requires significant planning in order to prevent potential negative changes.
A common feature and connecting link in many cases is his participation in numerous Tax Due Diligence and corporate restructuring processes, in which the tax perspective is often the crucial element in transactions.
An inherent aspect of tax consultancy he also covers is business consulting, particularly in tax inspection processes, both those related to direct tax and indirect taxation.
